La contribución a la publicación (sic) toma como punto de partida el mayor espacio histórico del procomún en el barrio de Velluters de Valencia: el Jardín del Hospital que tras un pasado como complejo sanitario (fundado hace más de seis siglos, fue el primer manicomio de Europa), pasó a un estátus de indeterminación entre parque arqueológico que conservaba vestigios de su ruina y solar abandonado.
El trabajo realiza una suerte de cronotopo o quimera espacio temporal uniendo por un lado, las fotografías encontradas en un álbum del año 1927 perteneciente a los archivos municipales y por otro, el registro de las actuales obras de remodelación que han dejado a la vista los cimientos históricos.
Se genera así una contraimagen o reflejo inverso de unos propósitos de regeneración que, sin embargo, siguen ocultando la cotidianeidad en suspenso e irresuelta del barrio.
The contribution to the publication (sic) builds upon the largest historical and common urban space in the neighbourhood of Velluters in Valencia: The Hospital’s Garden, which, having once been a sanitary complex (founded more than six centuries ago, and also the first mental hospital in Europe), acquired an undetermined status between an archaeological park, that preserved traces of its ruin, and an abandoned site.
The Project carries out a sort of chronotope time-space chimera joining photographs, found in a 1927 album from the municipal archives, with images of the current remodelling construction site that has brought the old, historical foundation walls to light.
Through this, what is generated is a contra image or an inverse reflection of the aims to regenerate which, in fact, keep hidden the unresolved, suspended everyday of the area.
